Notes Icon vanished

I can open it from the Apple Store App but it doesn't appear anywhere on my screen. I can't re-download from the Apple Store because the only option is Open. How do I get the Icon back?

The icon must be in the App Library. Swipe from right to left until you reach the very last screen (the App Library). Once there locate the Notes app, long-press it and tap Add to Home Screen.
