OS X Maverick Utility wont take my Apple ID login

Can anyone tell me why my Apple ID login won't work for the Utility window?? I'm logged into the Apple site now to post this msg, so why won't it let me log in for reseting the computer system??

kinda frustrating

The Apple User ID and Password, although associated with the Computer is not the same Password.


To change the Admin Account password for the Computer


Reset Computer Password 


Intel Computer


1 - Restart computer and immediately hold Command + r keys


2 - Top Tool Bar >> Utilities >> Terminal


3 - Type resetpassword as one word and no spaces


4 - Press Return key


5 - Follow the prompts and remember the New Password
