is there a way to know if the MacBook Pro is new or refurbished ?

The starting letter of the serial number is 100% unrelated to its new/refurbished status. It actually is part of the code identifying the factory where it was built.

Did you buy it from Apple? If so there is the Refurbished sales page and the New Macs sales pages.
Nops I didn’t get it from apple. From a retailer instead. the serial number starts from F so I thought it might be refurbished.
