No, you cannot charge via USB on a 2011 MacBook Pro. That was not the technology of the time. You need a new MagSafe power adapter.
Any Apple-sold Magsafe that has same-or-more watts than the original and fits the charging port will work. Compatible power chargers are one of the few items Apple stocks for 2011 systems.
