If you subscribe to `apple music can you still download the music to an Ipod classic for playing ?
Secondly, what happens to your own music collection which in my case is over 7,000 tracks?

Content from the Apple Music subscription service cannot be used on an iPod classic. An iCloud Music Library is limited to 100,000 tracks, not including any iTunes purchases. Your existing library is matched or uploaded so it becomes available to your cloud enabled libraries and devices.
