Switching devices on find my

Does switching devices from which you’re sharing location notify your friends?

It shouldn't. I just set up an iPhone for a family member which was a hand-me-down iPhone from myself. For a week she had two iPhones while I worked at uploading her massive photo collection to iCloud Photos after restoring her backup to the new phone.


In this week she continued to use her old iPhone, and when I presented her with her new iPhone I swapped over the location in Find My from old to new. I didn't receive any notification (as one of her "friends" in the People list) that this had occurred.
