I was typing a document in Pages on my Macbook Pro. Everything was fine until I saved it and left the document. When I went back in the font was red and everything I tried to change it back to black did not work. Format, pencils, drop down color. I restarted Pages...no go. I restarted my computer...did not work.
What is going on here and does anyone know how I get around this? BTW...I am using Monterey 12.1. Thanks!

After the initial restart, which had no effect, I would proceed to a second restart, this time into Safe Mode.
