i was watching a video and noticed that the top left of my status bar said recording, I thought it was part of the video but when I went on other apps it was still there? This happened after I updated to IOS 15

As the screen image you posted with “recording” is either wallpaper or an app, if it’s wallpaper it is picking up a different “layer” of the image. To check, change the wallpaper to one of the stock images. If it’s an app that is open then the app is displaying “recording”. But none of the built-in apps would do that.

It’s not…
No, I’m sure it is. There is no app that displays the word “recording” anywhere. Go to Settings/Wallpaper and post a screen shot of the wallpaper page. It should look something like this:

I think the word “recording” is on your wallpaper. Go to Settings/Wallpaper and check.
That’s really odd, apparently it was an app. I cleared everything and it was gone.
It certainly is odd, but I’m glad it’s resolved.
