Sort File

I can sort file as descending or ascending whenever I was on "list view" option. But somehow when I change it to icon, the order of the file change back to as "date created" instead of maintain as what I chose while I was on "list view" option. Does any other way(s) to maintain the order of the file while changing the view option?

In that open Finder icon view window, press ⌘+J to open the View options panel. Mine is set to the following:

This organizes the icons alphabetically with folders first, and then files. There is no concept of ascending/descending in Finder's icon view. Press ⌘+J to dismiss that View options panel.
