Logging into my late father's iPad.

My father gave me his iPad some time ago which I was using with my apple id. I had a problem with the screen so I stopped using it for some time.

After my dad passed away in 2021, I decided to go and repair the screen to use it again but I can't activate the iPad because it is locked with my dad's apple id which I don't have his password.

Can anyone please help me out?
