Can’t send messages from my iPad to android phone

I just got the new iPad and my messages don’t go through or sync from my iphone to my sons android phone.

See the information here, How to forward SMS/MMS text messages from your iPhone to your iPad, iPod touch or Mac - Apple Support If this is a new iPad, you will have to configure the text message forwarding for it on the iPhone.
