Why can’t I hear anybody while I’m on a call and when I FaceTime it fails..?

If the above options do not mitigate the issues then Contact your carrier and then Contact Apple Support

Two Things:

A. Increase the Volume:

Despite the work "Failed", increase the volume. Does that fix this issue?

B. Disable Bluetooth:

If you have a bluetooth device connected to your iPhone, then disconnect it, simply by disabling Bluetooth:

1. Go to: Settings
2. Tap: Bluetooth (so that it is greyed out)
