Safari opening new tabs/websites

When I am browsing certain websites, Safari will open a new tab and it looks to be a scam site. If I open an Apple.com page, Safari will open a window that says my Mac has a virus. What do I do? It will not stop!

So after many messages and a phone call with a Senior tech person, I am going to have to erase my iMac completely! I had to buy a pretty large external HD and will use Time Machine to back it up. Apparently it lies in the core of the internet settings and no Malwarebytes software can get rid of it. That is their only solution at this point. Pretty bummed about it.
