How do I obtain a backup disk?

I am unable to set up the Time Machine on my MAC due to not having a Backup Disk. How do I resolve this?

iMac 21.5″, OS X 10.10

I believe you answered your own question.


Time Machine requires a backup disk. So you need to purchased an external storage device to serve as your Time Machine backup disk.


Here are options straight from Apple's website. You can also find options from 3rd-party retail stores as well. Verify that they are compatible with Macs, most should be.
