Mac mail not displaying remote images Catalina

Hi, Mac mail is not displaying remote images. I’m using Catalina so a lot of the privacy settings that are referred to in some of the answers online don’t seem to apply. I know the images are there because if I use a different email clean I can see them. I need to stay with Catalina for various reasons – can anyone tell me how to force it to accept remote images.

Just to be clear in the in mail – preferences viewing tabs the load remote content in messages is ticked – many thanks for any help :-)

Try in Safe Mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support.

If it still doesn't work there, remove the Mail account from your Mac: Remove email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support, then add it back: Add an email account to Mail on your Mac - Apple Support.

If you're still having issues, see if the message loads properly on your Mail provider's web mail. Then, using that information, contact your Mail provider for more help: Contact a third-party vendor - Apple Support.
