Monterey Messages -- Notification won't clear

Shortly after I updated to Monterey (2018 MacBook Pro 15, i9, 32gb) I have a messages notification that won't go away. None of my other devices show the notification and there are no unread messages. I tried signing my account out and back in, quitting messages, restarting etc. It's a small thing, but I keep thinking I have a new message when I don't, or missing a new message because I'm ignoring the notification. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
