Does apple update HD movies to 4k when available? I wanted to buy Misery in 4k but it shows as HD.

How often do they do that? Coming from google movies they always updated their hd versions for free.

If a movie is available from the iTunes Store in HD and in 4K, then HD buyers can get the 4K version. They’re basically the same shop item.

Availability of 4K content depends on what the releasing studio is supplying to Apple. It can differ by country or region.

It seems that Castle Rock Entertainments hasn’t released a 4K version of Misery (1990) on the iTunes Store (US) yet.
