iPhone 8 & MacBook compatability

Is it possible to download photos from my iPhone 8 into a MacBook 1342 running High Sierra (OS 10.13) & then transfer the photos from the Mac to my PC via a thumb drive? (It's very complicated to get the phone & PC to talk to each other.)

Windows, Windows 10

Yes. What happens when you connect the iPhone?

Try using Image Capture to get the photos out of the iPhone and into a folder on the Mac's hard drive.

Once saved to a folder you can just drag them onto the USB drive to copy or move them there.

You can of course just connect the iPhone to the PC, and use Windows Explorer to get the files out of the DCIM folder without needing the Mac as a middle man.
