I can not send photos to a non Apple device. Looking at Messages in settings my phone number is gray, not black. What happened?

That is for imessage, which has nothing to do with MMS, you'll need to contact your cellphone provider and let them know.

I turned off Bluetooth and had instant success. 🤷
