Unable to Verify Update The watchOS update couldn't be verified because you are not connected to the Internet.

I’m trying to update my Apple Watch series 7 to IOS 8.4.2 and receiving the above message. Both the watch and phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi. I have unpaired the watch, deleted the update download and tried again to no avail. Any ideas?

Try to update from the watch itself.

Place the watch on the charger.

Make sure that your watch is connected to wifi.

On your watch, open the Settings app.

Tap General > Software Update.

Tap Install if a software update is available, then follow the onscreen instructions.
