I'm looking to upgrade from a iMac (27-inch, Late 2013) with a 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 processor and 16 GB of memory. I do light video and photo editing, will the M1 mac mini be a suitable/improvement upgrade? Thanks.
iMac Line (2012 and Later)
while I don't have an M1 MacMini, I do have an M1 MacBook Air that has the same M1 chip and I do RAW image processing from a Nikon D7500 and have no issues.
FWIW, I also have a late 2013 27" iMac and i had 32 GB of RAM. Generally, my photo processing is at least twice as fast and often faster, especially with M1 optimized apps. My apps that I use for photo processing: DxO PhotoLab 4 (RAW processor), Affinity photo, Topaz Studio, and EasyHDR3.
