OS Upgrade for 10 Year Old iMac

I am using 10.9.5 OS X and not able to upgrade to higher versions. Most of the apps and browers are not supported. How can I upgrade ?

We need to know the exact model year of the iMac to tell you what version of Mac OS is the latest it will run. If you are unsure, please click the in the upper left of the display and then click About this Mac and it will tell you.

Old computers have hardware limitations so your best bet may be to buy a more up-to-date Mac. You have LOTS of options including brand new 24" or a Mac Mini or Apple Refurbished Macs or even buying used from a reputable reseller.
