Apple ID not active

I setup a new Apple ID for work and have logged into my account on my Mac. Now when I try to login to iCloud it says that the Apple ID is not active and won't let me get past it. I know the password and the Apple ID, but I can't get logged out of it to do anything else. I have tried to reset the password, but I get the same not active error message.
