Monterey OS won't let you add a new contact

Why can't you add a new contact as soon as I type in the contact name it disappears. How the heck are you suppose to add a contact when your entry information disappears? MacBook Pro (14-inch, 2021) Monterey OS

I updated my OS to the latest version macOS Monterey 12.3 it had no affect on fix this problem. Surely as big of issue as this is, Apple would fix this. That's like buying a new Mercedes and they forgot to put A/C in it.
