I realize my backup wasn't up to date. It is now saying 2 days remaining for it to back up. This seems excessive. What can I do?

It has all ready been plugged in for 12 hours and then it upped to 3 days…isn’t that excessive?

Connect to wifi, plug to power, lock the phone and leave it alone to finish the backup.
back up says 2 days remaining, why is this happening?
