If I buy an Apple Watch from someone and the carrier is Verizon do I need to have the same carrier? Also is I buy a GPS & Cellular watch do I have to pay extra for that a month?

The watch uses the same carrier as it's paired phone.

Apple Watch different carrier I am unable to add any additonal lines on my phone carrier. I really would love to get an Apple Watch. Can I just buy one from Best Buy with cellular option instead? Or does it have to be from my carrier. I hope this is not confusing. I would like to purchase an apple watch unlocked so I can use it with my iphone.
