I just bought a MagSafe charger. It will not charge my iPhone 8 plus. Isn't it supposed to be compatible?

Why won't a MagSafe charger work with my iPhone 8?

The iPhone 8 supports Qi compatible chargers. It does not support MagSafe.

It may be possible to charge it with a MagSafe charger, but getting it placed correctly is going to be difficult.
