my iphone xs power button has suddenly stopped working and it also wont let me open anything like apps but i can still swipe across opened apps (i only have safari opened) and i tried to hard reset it but it still didn't work and im worried that my phone might've somehow broke? please help

If the power button really is broken then you can not do a forced restart,
but
First try a Forced restart Force restart iPhone – Apple Support (UK)
