Using new iPhone 13 Pro Max with eSim. Can I use another countries sim or eSim while traveling?

Just bought new iPhone and Apple transferred my date. It is an unlocked phone bought from Apple.

The salesman told me about not putting in my old sim. I did not understand if I can change carriers while traveling internationally? And if I can do that, how do I get back to my eSim status when I come back into the USA? Thank you. Barbara Tanguy

Since you bought an unlocked iPhone yes you can use a SIM from other cell service providers for the second line while using the eSIM for your primary provider. If you need to use the eSIM instead yes you can set it up in another country and set it back to your primary carrier when you return.
