Search feature in Preview documents does not work in macOS Monterey. What are the solutions aside from purchasing Adobe Acrobat?

A PDF containing text is searchable here (macOS 12.3.1 / Preview 11.0).

Are you sure your PDF contains text and isn't instead an image. Besides, Acrobat Reader is free.
