Mail will not load content on my new MacBook Pro M1 - Your network preferences prevent content from loading privately. ??

I have a new MacBook Pro M1 13". I migrated all of my files, apps, etc., from my 2013 MacBook Pro. Mail worked fine there for years. Now, when I open mail messages the images do not appear. The message is: Your network preferences prevent content from loading privately. I did not have this problem on my previous MacBook Pro. What has changed? This is _really_ annoying!

Thank you for that advice. I was a bit confused about the options in Mail Preferences. Evidently, the Privacy option is new in Monterey; it was not there in Big Sur. I suppose that turning off all those privacy options I am right back where I was all the time before Monterey. Correct?

I think some other mail apps also have such privacy options but they allow the user to delete privacy protection for mail sources that are known to the user, e.g., newspapers and other sources. In Monterey it seems that there is no such option.

Again -- thanks.
