"Your system has extensions or settings installed that are incompatible with Private Relay."

I'm receiving "Your system has extensions or settings installed that are incompatible with Private Relay." trying to enable Private Relay. A prior question about this linked to a MacRumors thread on the topic.

I've removed all VPN software, per the thread's recommendation. And I'm not using any special DNS settings. However, I'm still getting the error message when trying to enable Private Relay. Are there any other recommendations on which extensions or settings may be the cause of this error?

After receiving an email from Apple Support Communities, I installed EtreCheckPro (https://etrecheck.com/upgrade) and ran a report. It discovered a VPN file that I hadn't found before, noting that it was unsigned. (The file was com.privateinternetaccess.vpn.daemon) After removing that file, and restarting, Private Relay seems to work.
