Blocking senders in Apple Mail

I just recently upgraded to a new 24" iMac w/macOS Monterey.

I was thrilled by the prospect of being able to block mail from spammers, etc.

Turns out... the Block Contact feature does ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING...

... unless you count the fact that now all my "blocked" contacts have a header included in their emails that says... "This message is from a Blocked Contact."

What good is that???????????

I'm pretty disgusted by this state of affairs.

Is someone working on a fix for this... or is it how it was designed to be??

iMac 24″, macOS 12.3

Alright... I happened to do a little more sleuthing after posting this concern.

I found that in Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail > "Blocked"... there are a couple of buttons.

One button says, "Mark as blocked mail, but leave in my inbox"

The other button says, "Move it to the trash"

I just now clicked the button for "Move it to the trash"

I'll watch now and see how things go.

I have been using the Mail Rules for years without anything even close to satisfactory results.

My reply to my own concern (above) seems hopeful.

I will post again in a few weeks to let interested parties know if it worked. 🤞

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply... but I think I may have solved this problem on my own.

Thanks, too, for the info on contacting Apple. I will bookmark these.
