To transfer a standalone iMovie video that has been shared out (exported) from iMovie, drag or copy it into the Thumb drive. First format the thumb drive Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or APFS if you plan to play it only on an Apple machine. If you intend to play the movie on a Windows machine as well as on an Apple machine, format the thumb drive ExFAT.

For the iMovie app itself, you can drag or copy the app to a thumb drive formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled) or APFS.
