My wife picked up a '17 iMac last week replacing her '13. She's running High Sierra due to CS6 limitations. All is fine on the system, but Mail. I've tried numerous ways to move the mail from her old machine to the newer one to no avail. If I must get into detail of what I've tried, but didn't want to convolute the post.
Aside from Migration Assistant, what is Apple's no fail way of moving mail from one machine to another?
iMac Line (2012 and Later)
You may need to export the mailboxes that are listed as "On My Mac" on the old machine, and then import them into the new. The Export command is under the Mailboxes menu item. The Import command is found in the FIle menu.

If she has emails "on her Mac" then just export/import those to the new Mac.

Okay I used Export, saved to a flash drive, brought it to the new machine and used Import. They seemed to have imported fine, but many are missing their attachments and instead filled with a garble of letters and numbers. Would I now copy over attachment folder(s)?
If the email account is an IMAP account, just create the account in Mail on the new computer and log into the account. All the email on the server will be synchronized on the new computer.
"on the server" sure, but there's email that she refers back to that are years old from her clients. Those are only on her system, not on the server. I need to copy all email from her old machine.
