My phone is dark even though dark mode is off

i have an iPhone 8plus I don’t know what happened my screen is dark even though dark mode is off

Hmm, try switching it back and forth a few times: Use Dark Mode on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Or, if you mean completely black, see this: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won‘t turn on or is frozen

Or, if it is just too dark, see this: Adjust the brightness on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
