Apple Watch se doesn’t respond to clicks

My Apple Watch se doesn’t respond to clicks . On the initial start of Watch I can click on apps and open but later can’t clicks on anything even the apps in back ground . The screen responds to moving up an down. Just the clicking on apps takes many tries and most of times they don’t open . Is this defect ?
