If the company purchased the iPad, then they can contact Apple about removing the Activation Lock. They will need the original receipt with the serial number. How to remove Activation Lock - Apple Support


To prevent this from happening in the future, you should have a policy in place about this, however the best way to manage the devices is with MDM management software, so individuals cannot use their personal Apple IDs to activate company devices. The management allows the company to do all of the activation, software updates, etc. on the company's devices. Intro to mobile device management - Apple Support
