Hello RedPanther2112,
Apple has recently released iPadOS 15.5 and iOS 15.5, are both the iPad and iPhone software up-to-date? You can verify this on each device by opening Settings > General > About. If either or both devices require an update, follow these steps to update: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.
Are both the iPad and iPhone on the same Wi-Fi network? If you have not tried already, restart both the iPad and iPhone. This step can help to refresh the apps and software on the devices to solve numerous problems you may encounter.
If you delete the Wi-Fi connection from each device and reconnect, does this help to correct the issue? This will help to verify that your devices are connected to your Wi-Fi network and that they both have a solid connection.
Kind regards!
