My Apple Watch is connected to my iPhone, but when I use Siri it always says it has trouble connecting if my WiFi is off on the Apple Watch, or if my Watch is away from WiFi (but still connected to my iPhone which is connected to the internet). Any ideas?

Unpair and erase your Apple Watch - Apple Support
If the issue persists, Contact Apple for support and service.

Let's see how we can help getting Siri to work with your Apple Watch when you need it. While your iPhone may be showing connected, it will need to be close by to use the cellular service.
Take a look at what the Apple Watch can do when the iPhone is not close by in Use Apple Watch without its paired iPhone.

Appreciate the help! Regrettably, even when the phone is in my pocket (for instance in the car), the watch still “has trouble connecting”. I’ve tried restarting the watch to no avail. Is this a known issue, or unique to my watch?
Happy to follow those steps - to clarify though, all other functionality of the watch works, including notifications. The only feature that’s not working is Siri via the Apple Watch when I’m not near wifi on my watch.
Aha! I tried that and it seems to be working - apologies for the confusion, I was under the impression I was missing a setting or otherwise had a faulty device. Thank you for the help here!
