iPhone SE messaging problems

Hi,

I have a 2nd Ed iPhone SE. There is a red exclamation mark on my messages app icon., and when trying to send SMSs I get a failed to send error. touching the exclamation mark by the individual sms results in a failed to send error.

How can I sort this out please?

SMS and MMS messaging are carrier features.

Contact your cellular carrier.
