see email password
I need to be able to see what password my ipad is using to sign on to my email provider. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks. Like I said, that one stored password does not show.
Only if you saved it in cloud Keychain or some other password manager or secure notes. The password is never shown in the mail app settings for secret reasons. Passwords are always obscured in apps or app settings.
Well. The crazy thing (to me) is that I saved the password to my keychain to sign in to the email provider, which is also the cable provider. The keychain allows me to sign through the cable provider when I want to stream, and the keychain remembers the password. But, it does not show up in passwords in my settings. All the other passwords do, but that one doesn't.
I can still sign in to my email on the ipad, but I cannot put the email account on my phone because I cannot figure out the password. If I could see the password through my ipad email, that would help.
I did try to use the 'forgot password' function on the email provider page. But, each time I try, nothing shows up on the email.
Passwords are never shown in cleartext within Mail Settings.
Passwords stored in your keychain are intentionally obscured - but are simply revealed by tapping the obscured password field. When tapped - the Password will be visibly shown on screen.
Thanks. Like I said, my mac provides the password for this particular website when I try to sign in, but the password does not show up under passwords in preferences like all of my other passwords do.
Have you enabled Keychain in iCloud on both your iPad and Mac computer? If not, your iCloud Keychain will not be synchronised between devices.
To see any password stored in your iPad Keychain:
Settings > Passwords > [tap the required password entry] > Password
Tap the obscured ( ********) entry to reveal the saved password.
