mac wont import all photos

i cant seem to ever import all my photos it only ever imports the 120 most recent ones ive taken. does anyone know a solution to this?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.4

Is your phone syncing with iCloud? If so do you have optimise phone storage set? Any photos where full sized images have been optimised off your phone into the cloud won't be available for transfer to your mac. Instead use iCloud to sync your mac and phone libraries.
