Updating my iPad via iTunes and I keep getting an error code 4000
I've been trying to update my iPad via iTunes and I keep getting an error code 4000. What does that mean as it's not listed?

I've been trying to update my iPad via iTunes and I keep getting an error code 4000. What does that mean as it's not listed?

See If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support. If you're trying to update using iTunes try over the air instead, or vice versa.
Note if you're getting a -4000 error when updating from iTunes you need to remove your device passcode, update, then enable again afterwards.

Thanks for the suggestions. After turning off the Passcode again (it appears to have turned itself back on) and loading iTunes onto a different laptop, it finally worked.
