Mac Pro M1 won't turn on

My mac pro m1 started to drain the battery overnight, even if it was shut down. Now it won't turn on. This has happened 5-6 times now. Earlier I was able to turn it on by plugging in the charger and long-press the power button, this time this didn't help.


When awake it works fine, battery too.


Please tell me how to turn it on.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.4

According to Apple:

If your Mac doesn't seem to turn on after you press the power button, follow these steps:


  1. Make sure that your Mac is connected to AC power. If it doesn't have a built-in display, make sure that your external display is connected to power, connected to your Mac, and turned on.
  2. Press and hold the power button on your Mac for at least 10 seconds, then release.
  3. Every Mac has a power button. On notebook computers that have Touch ID, press and hold Touch ID.
  4. If you see no change on your Mac, press and release the power button normally.
  5. If your Mac now turns on but stops at some other screen during startup, follow the steps for when your Mac doesn't start up all the way.


If your Mac still doesn't turn on, please contact Apple Support. 

After 4 days, my Mac finally turned on. It displayed a popup “The version on the macOS on the selected disk needs to be reinstalled” .


I restarted it, and now it's working like any normal Mac.


I checked the battery usage history, and it shows that it got fully discharged today, before restarting. Last 10 days of battery is weird, as it shows screen on usage even when it was totally blank.


Not sure, what's wrong with this Mac.
