Hi, I have troubles with txt file, I would like to create a txt file with a font smaller than 9 which I set as default, but after I change and reduce the font size from the option and save the file, it goes back every time to 9.
Basically I try to change and set a font smaller but after saving the file and reopening it it goes back automatically to 9 as no change were made.
Can someone please help me?

Are you saying that when you set TextEdit preferences for New Document Plain Text Font to size 5 and then type and save the text, when you reopen the doc it is no longer 5 and those preferences have changed?

Normally yes, but TextEdit's preferences should let you determine the name and size font to display in plain text docs even though the docs themselves contain no font info.

A plain text file can't have any formatting information stored inside it. Anything changed inside TextEdit or another application will be lost when it's closed.
