Pass through audio?

How come the Apple TV 4K does not support pass-through audio, like Dolby Atmos? My receiver says atmos/pcm.

The Apple TV 4K box is designed to output Dolby Atmos audio in Dolby MAT format. It seems correct the receivers may display that as “Atmos/PCM”, where PCM reflects the uncompressed state of the audio stream. It works as intended.
