Download and install the appropriate device software from: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/inkjet-multifunction/mx-series-inkjet/mx922/?subtab=downloads-drivers

It is usually best to check with the vendor.

Here are the Canon PIXMA MX922 (MX920) series drivers:

If those are not working and if Canon support does not have a fix or update or workaround for their PIXMA MX922 scanner, and if the scanner lacks support for TWAIN for integrated alternatives (TWAIN and AirPrint can be considered requirements when purchasing scanners and printers), then maybe the VueScan app will get the scanner working?
