Hey, Lovemtn!

Unfortunately, spam in all its various forms is a plague that we don't really have a great medicine for. In the context of email, it's helpful to adopt a few rules of thumb:

  1. Don't open emails you suspect are spam. Trackers can sometimes be embedded in email messages, and when you open a spam email, the sender will be notified that your address is active, triggering them to send you even more or sell your address to other spammers.
  2. Move suspected spam emails to your provider's Spam or Junk folder. Most email providers have algorithms that try to catch as much spam as they can, and manually moving a message will help train those algorithms.
  3. If you do open an email that turns out to be spam, DON'T CLICK ON ANY LINKS! Most are designed to extort money or other information out of you. Don't even click on "unsubscribe" links (if a sender is unscrupulous enough to send you spam in the first place, they're not going to abide by the laws surrounding unsubscribe policies) - just delete immediately.

I hope that helps!
