Sleep

I have a MacBook Pro 13 mid 2012. Running Mac OS Mojave. My issue is whenever I close the lid the MacBook will go to sleep as normal but after an hour the sleep will cut out and the white light will stop blinking. when I lift lid after that time it makes this internal power noise (Not the apple sound) I think its the SuperDrive. Just wondering if this is normal?

In sleep mode the white light should continue to blink forever, until the Mac runs out of power. From your description it seems as though the Mac is shutting down.
